Fourth annual Beerfest June 19/20
The fourth annual Beerfest at Fairmont Hot Springs Resort is ready to pour June 20.
About 70 beers will be available for tasting from such breweries as local favourite – Arrowhead Brewing Co. Also confirmed are Fernie Brewing, Big Rock Brewing, Okanagan Springs and Mt. Begbie, along with about 20 others.
The venue for the 4 to 8 p.m. Beerfest is once again the Fairmont Hot Springs Resort ski lodge (outside).
Back to soundtrack the tasting extravaganza is Celtic band Cod Gone Wild.
New this year is a Friday Night Kick-off Party, including a Long Drive Competition from 4 to 7 p.m. at Fairmont Hot Springs Airport.
All proceeds benefit the Columbia Valley Golf Trail Junior Tour.
The event is open to everyone, costing $15 for three balls ($10 for children 12 and under). Taylormade drivers are available to use.
Afterward there is a barbecue with beer specials at the Mountainside Golf Course Clubhouse. Live music will be provided from 7 to 11 p.m. by long time valley favourite Ted Alexander.
All participants in the Long Drive receive a two for one coupon for the barbecue.
