The 2015 Kootenay Kiltraiser promises to be the grandest wee fashion event of the year in the Columbia Valley.

Kiltraiser 2015 PosterAny profit realized from this Scottish extravaganza will go toward Groundswell and the Community Greenhouse in Invermere.

Evening participants should garb themselves in kilts and Scots apparel, because it just goes better with all the Robbie Burns birthday celebration stuff!

For $25 a ticket, event-goers qualify for free Scottish appies, haggis tasting, Arrowhead Scottish ale, Highland Games, dancing, bagpipes, great prizes and a midnight bagpipe march and an ode to haggis to properly celebrate Robert Burns’ birthday.

There will also be live Celtic music with The MacSullivans.

And back to the kilt thing – there will be best costume prizes, so Scots up laddies and lassies and get your tickets sooner than later because they are going quickly (only 80 available).

The event is being held at Safta’s in downtown Invermere at 7:30 p.m. on Jan. 24.
