Indie Films Fernie’s next presentation is Rust and Bone on Monday, March 4 at 7 p.m. at the Vogue Theatre.

Rust and Bone is a raw, unflinching, against-all-odds love story that has already set box-office records in France.

Lonely and destitute, Ali leaves the north of France for his sister’s house in Antibes after becoming the sole guardian of his estranged five-year-old son Sam. Ali finds work as a bouncer at a nightclub where he meets Stephanie, a killer-whale trainer. After a terrible accident that leaves Stephanie with her spirit and body broken she reaches out to Ali who helps her recover her will to live.

Rust and Bone (France/Belgium French with English subtitles) was a Special Presentation at the 2012 TIFF.
