Stellar day for Salmon Festival

The fifth annual Columbia Salmon Festival took place on Saturday, September 12 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Invermere’s Kinsmen Beach.

It was a beautiful day for a paddle and paddling, as well as checking out Kokanee salmon returning to valley creaks and rivers to spawn.

The festival at the Kinsmen Beach greenspace by Pynelogs Cultural Centre, featured a wide variety of information, edibles, entertainment, including magician Jeremy Coyote (pictured in gallery below).

Festival-goers also learned about the Ktunaxa Creation Story courtesy Joe Pierre Jr. and his vibrant delivery. The Ktunaxa Nation Dance Troupe also performed, along with the Rosie Brown.
