Cranbrook Relay team sets goal of $15,000

The BDO Cranbrook office has collected over $15,000 in donations for the Canadian Cancer Society through participating in the last four Slopes for Hope and the last three Relay for Life events – and in the process met goals resulting in senior manager Michael Murphy going bald twice and manager Vintee Kaushal (pictured above) getting a fairly significant trim.

But this year we wanted to do something even bigger – we wanted to get Manoj Kaushal a haircut too. So after Michael said he would shave his head if Team BDO Family raised $5,000 he approached Manoj to see what it would take to get him to lose his lion mane in support of cancer research.

Manoj, being awfully fond of his hair but wanting to do something extra, as he like many others has lost many friends and family to the disease set the lofty goal of $15,000!

Team BDO Family quickly underwent a name change and became BDO Tame the Mane and fundraising began in earnest to get Manoj a well deserved haircut – to date we have already raised approximately 20% of our goal.  Please support this noble cause – you can donate at the BDO Canada LLP Office (35 10th Ave S) or the Canadian Cancer Society office (19 9th Ave S) or online: at relayforlife.ca and search for BDO Tame the Mane.
