EKC collects new books for Toys for Tots

East Kootenay Community Credit Union (EKC) has teamed with Toys for Tots to supply books to the children of Sparwood this holiday season.

EKC is collecting new books appropriate for toddlers to teens at their Sparwood branch. The books will be distributed to the children registered in the Toys for Tots program.

One-book-per-employee ‘Challenge’

EKC challenges local businesses to donate one book per employee to achieve the goal of 100 books. Please drop off new children’s books at EKC 124 Aspen Drive in Sparwood by December 10.

EKC continues to be active in the Sparwood community since the doors of the temporary branch opened this time last year and the new branch this past March.

“EKC boasts many unique attributes and strives on keeping things local. Community donations, locally elected boards, local decision making and member shares are a just a few of the things that branch members and residents of Sparwood have seen,” says branch manager Eric Johnstone.
