Eagles provide $10,000 to mammography campaign
This past Sunday, members from the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #3032 and its Ladies Auxiliary helped light stars #14 and 15 at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital.
The $10,000 Starlite Campaign gift is earmarked for the A Clear View- digital mammography fund; and thanks to this generous donation the journey to the one million dollar mammography fundraising goal presently sits at $584,147.
Proceeds from the Auxiliary’s pancake breakfasts, Christmas Craft fairs and an Eagles gaming grant has made a tremendous contribution to the ongoing two-year campaign. The gift also celebrates 16 stars lit and total donations of $77,695 for the Starlite Campaign.
This isn’t the only charitable fundraising the long-serving organization is undertaking; the North American wide fraternal organization and their ladies auxiliaries are also striving to build a $25 million endowment to build the Fraternal Order of Eagles Diabetes Research Center at the University of Iowa. Thanks to many generous community and personal donations over the holidays EKFH was also able to light stars 11, 12 and 13. The annual star light-up campaign continues through to 31 January 2012. To make a donation visit www.ekfh.ca.
