Hello all! It’s been a minute, and I’m sure that some of you are eagerly waiting for updates on Wapiti 2022. The biggest piece of news (for anyone that didn’t get our postcard)….
Wapiti is officially coming BACK this summer for our tenth year. We’ve been in planning mode in a huge way, with ticket sales and lineups being announced soon. We also wanted to make a very important announcement that we are switching venues! We have been very fortunate to call the Annex Park “home” for the last 9 years, but it is undergoing crucial upgrading over the summer and won’t have the access we need to be able to host everyone. With that being said, we are happy to announce that we will be hosting it at James White Park! We very much understand that there will be a few questions regarding this new location, so we’ve outlined a few of those below. You can swipe through our stories to take a look as well.
How will this affect the festival?
The location change won’t affect any of the core details of the festival. It will still have great music, food, and beverages. We’ve got trees, tons of park space, and of course those magical mountain views. It will also have great pedestrian and cyclist access. There will be some effect on parking as there is not nearly as much on-site parking.
What does this mean for parking?
Wapiti strongly encourages everyone to walk or bike to Wapiti if possible. On-site parking will be limited to those with mobility challenges. Parking locations will be mapped out and announced clearly on social and on the website. We are carefully planning this out to reduce the impact on the nearby neighbors.
What does the new festival location mean for James White Park users?
Access to James White Park will be limited to festival attendees during the period the festival is operating. Access may be limited due to safety concerns around vehicles and equipment movement on the Thursday before and the Sunday after the festival.
