The 1st annual Cranbrook Multicultural Festival produced by the Cranbrook Multi-cultural Society (CMCS) celebrates the diverse cultures in Cranbrook and area. The Festival will draw many community members who enjoy an amazing panorama of multi-cultural performances, exotic foods, art and heritage exhibits.

The Festival presents the artistic experiences of International and Canadian performers representing diverse multi-cultural backgrounds. Many of the cultural performances are emerging local acts while others are seasoned local, national and foreign professionals. Each year more and more musicians and dancers from many ethno cultural communities will get involved, and our main stage showcases the rhythms and folk rituals from around the globe.

Cultural groups will introduce their culture by displaying pictures, art works, and cultural significant items at a booth. The visitors are going to learn different aspects of a culture such as traditional clothing, architect, political figures, music, food and traditions. There is also a large craft tent where children of all ages can learn to make culturally significant crafts like dream catcher, lantern, calligraphy and origami.

For cuisine, we will invite restaurants and home-made food vendors to present authentic ethnic fooditem as samplers. The visitors will have a taste of the world without traveling miles away. All items will be under $5 so visitors can have a taste of everything!

Entertainment will include live performance where musicians, artists and athletic performers are invited to show their culturally unique talents. The highlight of the live performance is a Traditional Fashion Show where visitors will see how fashion identifies cultures.
