Erin Knutson Bio

Hi, my name is Erin Knutson. I’m the executive director of the Columbia Basin Institute of Regional History; I’m from Calgary, Alberta, and have a background in communications and journalism. Accompanying me today is Derryll White, an anthropologist, historian, and founder of the Institute. Mr. White was a curator at Fort Steele for over three decades before creating the CBIRH. We specialize in preserving, digitizing, and making public historic images and documents of the Columbia Basin. Our organization has partnerships with nine historical institutions and school districts no. 5 and 6. In addition, we are looking to expand through unique interactive projects, including live and virtual exhibits. Our organization specializes in Multimedia Storytelling.
