Community hosting Valentine’s fundraiser for local family
For the Love of Gordon: A Valentine’s Party, will happen on Tuesday, February 14 at Key City Theatre.
If you’re looking for something to do this Valentine’s Day, come join us at the Key City Theatre for a night of enjoyment, excitement, extravagance, and fun; not to mention love!
The evening will start at 6 p.m. with a catered reception in the foyer. Here you’ll find sweet treats and appetizers, silent and live auctions, a photo booth, branded merchandise, specialized cocktails, and possibly a surprise or two! Then prepare to be entertained by two top-tier local bands; Pretty for the People and Mile High Club, as they take to the main stage at 7:30 p.m.
All proceeds from the event will go to the Sheridan family. Gordon Sheridan has recently been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. His wife Rhonda is looking to maintain her full-time job all while managing his comfort and care needs and parenting their 12-year-old son, Parker. Both Gordon and Rhonda have been long active members of the Cranbrook community, particularly in the arts. Now their grateful community is looking to give back to help cover their expenses over the next months.
“This is Valentine’s Day at its finest and what better way to celebrate love than to come together to help someone we love?” said Brenda Burley, Manager of Events and Development at Key City Theatre.
Burley, who has known the Sheridan family for several years said, “It is always so amazing to meet people who willingly and generously give their time and effort to others, and when one of us is facing a challenge, of course we are going to gather our forces together to bring as much help as we can. The Sheridan’s have been a huge part of our theatre community family in the last few years, and we will do all that we can to help ease their burden.”
Tickets are $49/person and can be purchased online at keycitytheatre.com or directly from the Key City Theatre box office.
The organizers are looking for sponsors, donors, and silent auction prizes and would gratefully accept all contributions. There will also be donation stations set up in various locations throughout the venue to allow for cash and electronic donations. If you would like to contribute in way of sponsorship, door prizes or silent auction items, please email [email protected].
If you wish to donate to this wonderful family directly, etransfers are being received through [email protected].
