Human and social development, Professor Susan Boyd shares her latest book an illustrated history of
drug prohibition in Canada in the 1800’s to present. Boyd discusses “ reefer madness” of the 1920’s, the
psychedelic movement of the 1960’s, the harm reduction movement of the 1990’s and present day, the
legalization of cannabis and how the drug laws influence the overall overdose crisis.

Join Shawna Dawe and Zak Matieschyn as they discuss Opioid Use Disorder and the treatment options, the challenges and opportunities around prescribing OAT in rural and remote communities. CME offered. Intended audience are NPs, GPs, clinicians, nurses those working within the context of Mental Health and Substance Use.
