Avalanche control delays in KNP

Travellers passing through Kootenay National Park (KNP) on Highway 93 are advised to be aware of avalanche control delays this afternoon.

Control work began at 12:30 p.m. between the Mt. Whymper (Alberta/B.C.) border, to Marble Canyon, and between Mt. Simpson/Vermillion Crossing to Simpson Monument. Avalanche control work is expected to be complete by about 3:15 p.m. Parks Canada reports.

Delays are expected to be about one hour in length.
