CFES knock down afternoon fire
Cranbrook Fire and Emergency Services (CFES) members are currently mopping up the remains of a house fire at 2505-4th Street South.
Along with about 15 firefighters, RCMP, BC Ambulance and City of Cranbrook personnel arrived at the scene at about 2:50 p.m. this afternoon (April 21). Firefighters quickly contained the fire, which appeared to be centered in the front living room of the bungalow.
A single female occupant was checked at the scene by BC Ambulance paramedics but appeared fine, other than visibly shaken.
An early, unofficial report notes that no one was hurt in the fire, with damage to the main floor of the house and water damage in the basement.
More details will be presented when available.
