Community Connections moving to new home

Here we grow again.

The staff and board of directors for Community Connections Society of Southeast BC (Community Connections) is excited to announce, ‘Here We Grow Again,’ and let the community know that the existing Cranbrook Family Connections hub of services is moving and expanding.

CommConnInsetIn 2007 Community Connections became the lead partner in establishing a hub of services to support individuals and families in Cranbrook and East Kootenay region. Cranbrook Family Connections has been a buzzing hub of services that has offered the following programs; Bellies to Babies Pregnancy Outreach Program, Options for Sexual Health, ANKORS AIDS Network Outreach and Support Society, Family Resource Programs, Community Action Program for Children, Nobody’s Perfect Parenting, and many more activities.

On June 1 Cranbrook Family Connections is moving and expanding services to be offered. Once again Community Connections is the lead partner and moving programs and services that are currently in three locations to a one-stop hub of service. Community Connections understands the value of this type of service to families and the community as a whole.

The Kootenay Child Development Centre is a model of success for just this type of one-stop service. In the first year alone, consultations and referrals amongst service providers increased by over 100%. Families continue to give positive feedback to having early childhood services in one location with easy access.

This model will be duplicated in the new Cranbrook Family Connections location. Services provided in this location will range from pre-natal to senior support. The following programs and services will co-locate and be available in the new hub to provide a comprehensive continuum of services in one easily accessible location:

Community Connections Administration Team;

Cranbrook Women’s Resource Centre;
