Couple headed to Fernie missing
Fort Mcleod RCMP officers are still actively coordinating the investigation into an overdue couple traveling from Fort Mcleod to Fernie.
Jacob and Anja Oosterwyjk departed Fort Mcleod on April 14 for a day trip to Fernie, and have not been heard from since. Although no foul play is suspected in this matter, police and the family of Anja and Jacob Oossterwyjk are anxious to locate the couple and ensure that they are safe. It is very unusual for the couple not to be in regular contact with their family, and the concern is that they may be stranded in a remote area somewhere between Fort Mcleod and Fernie, police report.
The RCMP are asking members of the public who reside in the rural areas of Southern Alberta and southeastern B.C. to watch for the Oosterwwyjks and their vehicle, a 1997 Green Honda CRV.
Photos of both the Oosterwvyjks and the vehicle are included. If anyone has any information pertaining to the Oosterwyjks is asked to call the Fort Mcleod RCMP at 403-553-7200 or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
