Members of the Cranbrook Celebration for Peace Society and City of Cranbrook Mayor Wayne Stetski met Sept. 12 to declare Sept. 21 as International Day of Peace in the city.

idelwildThis special and important day will be honoured with a celebration held at Idlewild Peace Park on Saturday, Sept. 21, gates opening at 5:30 p.m. with the celebration beginning at 6:30 p.m. sharp.

There will be displays of the participation of the students from city schools, participation of the youth groups, the children who took part in the summer projects in Rotary Park and the Cranbrook Arts Council, to name a few.

The evening will be filled with songs, music and dancers all from our very talented citizens of the East Kootenay area.

Everyone is invited – bring a jacket, and lots of enthusiasm!
