Fall Community Job Fair Oct. 23

The Fernie WorkBC Employment Services Centre and EK Employment Elk Valley is excited to announce the date for this year’s Community Job Fair.

In an age where most jobs require online applications, job fairs are a great and rare opportunity to make personal connections.

Last year’s job fair saw twenty-seven employers needing to fill hundreds of positions and roughly 300 job seekers were in attendance,” says Amy Boeckner, Business Services Coordinator for EK Employment.

Employers and job seekers are invited to attend the event, which will be held at the Fernie Community Centre on Friday, October 23 from 2 to 5 p.m.

Don’t miss out on securing your next great job or meeting your next great hire! The Elk Valley’s Community Job Fair features both permanent and seasonal job opportunities. Our goal each year is to expand the number and variety of positions available to job seekers at the Fair.

Job seekers across the region are invited to attend. Pre-registration is not required. Simply come prepared with your resume and interview skills. Interested to know which employers have confirmed attendance? Simply like our Facebook page or follow our website! Need help preparing your resume or knowing how to make the right first impression? Sign up for a free workshop! Our office in Fernie is open Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Our mobile office in Sparwood is open every Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Chamber of Commerce office. All employment services (including printing and computer use) is free!

Employer space is available and must be reserved in advance. Forms are available through our storefront or website. Registration forms and fees are due by Friday October 16.

Employers will not want to miss this great community event or the opportunity to collect a substantial amount of resumes and conduct on the spot pre-screening interviews. Employers from across the region are invited to attend.
