With the recent City of Cranbrook council decision to lower the water level of Idlewild Lake and to decommission the dam, the Cranbrook Firefighters will be putting their annual Fishing Clinic on hiatus.

The annual Father’s Day fishing clinic has been active for the past 38 years and will take a break until the lake work is completed.

“On behalf of the entire Cranbrook Fire Department, I would like to thank all our sponsors and the families for participating over the years and making the event a huge success,” says Jeremy Bertrand, spokesperson for the Cranbrook Firefighter’s Fishing Clinic. “We look forward to carrying on this great tradition upon the completion of Idlewild Lake revitalization project.”
