Intersection work gets underway
Crews are working over the next couple of weeks pouring new concrete sidewalks and letdowns at the Victoria Avenue and 2nd Street North intersection, followed by a complete repaving.
As a result of the construction, the intersection lights are on timers, rather than the sensors that drivers and pedestrians are used to. Wait times at that intersection may be slightly longer than usual for the duration of the construction work. This timer system will remain in place until the new traffic control camera system is installed – a system like what was recently installed at the Victoria Avenue and 2nd Street South intersection.
The City of Cranbrook suggests using alternate routes around the intersection wherever possible. There may be some temporary lanes closed and that the actual intersection may be closed completely during the repaving. Please follow any signage and follow any direction from flaggers during the work.
The City of Cranbrook apologizes for any inconvenience.
