Keep on weeding
Kootenay East MLA Bill Bennett presents a cheque to Marty Hafke, coordinator of the East Kootenay Invasive Plant Council in Fernie. The plant council and Regional District of East Kootenay last week received $193,500 and $23,300 to continue efforts to combat invasive weeds in the region. The funds are from the Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations.
