KERHD re-elects Kettle and McKerracher

The Kootenay East Regional Hospital District (KERHD) board of directors showed some more love Valentine’s Day for chair John Kettle and acting chair (vice chair) Dean McKerracher, re-electing both to the same positions for 2014.

“Bricks and mortar, bricks and mortar, bricks and mortar,” Kettle stated, reflecting the basic purpose of the KERHD, which provides 40% funding for capital projects in the hospital district, which includes Golden and area and Creston and area as well as the communities of the Regional District of East Kootenay.

“I will try very hard not to disappoint you,” Kettle told the board Feb. 14 following his re-election as chair, for a seventh straight year. The Regional District of Central Kootenay board chair and Electoral Area B director, the only person nominated for the position, added, “It has been an honour to continue to serve with you.”

District of Elkford Mayor Dean McKerracher was also returned to the acting chair position unopposed.

“I will work as hard as I can with chair Kettle. He does an excellent job for us,” McKerracher said.
