A look at JulyFest No. 42

The City of Kimberley once again came to life with the multi-angled animation that is the Best of the Fests – JulyFest – July 18 to 20.

More than 200 colourfully-clad teams competed in the Canadian Bocce Championships over the weekend, while one of North America’s biggest soccer tournaments took place at the high school and Marysville.

Saturday morning saw the annual Homecoming Parade get things rolling before the party returned in earnest to Rotary Park and the bocce pits, where local musical acts such as The Oak Republic soundtracked the good times. Nearby, a Kidsfest provided the wee ones with plenty to do.

Capping the day Saturday, presented by the Kimberley and District Chamber of Commerce, was a resounding performance by Wide Mouth Mason and Big Sugar.
