Minor injuries in snowplow crash

At about 8:30 a.m. March 10, Cranbrook RCMP received a call to a motor vehicle accident on King Street between a snowplow and a pickup truck.

Cranbrook RCMP responded to a collision between a snowplow and a Toyota pickup truck about seven kilometres down King Street.

The pickup was travelling on snow covered, slushy roads and as he moved over to avoid an oncoming snowplow he began to fishtail into oncoming traffic. The driver of the snowplow attempted to lift the blade of the plow in order to avoid the truck, but the blade hit just behind the driver’s seat of the pickup and embedded itself into the wall of the cab. The 18-year-old driver of the pickup received minor injuries.

Although Cranbrook has seen unusually warm mild days, the RCMP is reminding drivers that we are still in the winter season and the weather can change quickly. Cranbrook RCMP is also reminding drivers to drive to the road conditions.
