Mischief to Townsite stairs
Two teenagers caused grief for city workers last week at the Townsite stairs. For several weeks City of Kimberley workers have been busy rebuilding the stairs. The project was nearing completion when the subjects rolled the upper platform over the bank.
Although there was no damage to the structure it took two city workers over two hours to retrieve it.
Police have solid evidence as to who the suspects are and will be following up.
The stairs were damaged in the spring when unknown suspect(s) rolled a large rock down them. The city closed the stairs but after requests by residents of the area, proceeded with repairs.
Police, the city and local residents are very disappointed in the actions and lack of respect shown by these two subjects.
