One injured in two semi accident

At approximately 9 a.m. Jan. 11, Cranbrook Search and Rescue, RCMP and BC Ambulance Service responded to a two-vehicle accident southwest of Cranbrook.
Two tractor trailers lost control and skidded off Highway 3/95 near the Irishman Creek turn, located between Moyie and Yahk.
According to Cst. Bruce Mihalcheon of the Creston RCMP Detachment, the driver of one of the semis carrying produce sustained shoulder injuries and was brought to East Kootenay Regional Hospital. The second driver was uninjured.
The accident was caused by freezing rain and slushy road conditions. Cst. Mihalcheon said road conditions at this time of year consist of freezing rain and slushy roads and motorists need to take precautions, use judgment and drive according to the conditions of the road when traveling.
