Public school zones not in effect

Due to the current labour dispute between the B.C. Teachers’ Federation and the provincial government, the public schools are not in session.

As a result, school zones are not in effect if there is no school.

However, police would like to remind motorist this only affects the public schools, not private or the independent schools.

Also kids will be out and about so drivers need to be cautious especially around parks, playgrounds and community activity centres.
