Public Works removing dying trees downtown
A number of trees through downtown Cranbrook are in the process of being removed this week by City of Cranbrook Public Works staff.
Six trees along Baker Street were removed on Tuesday with crews scheduled to remove the root balls out of the planters on Thursday. Work is scheduled to be done before traffic gets too heavy; however Public Works may need to occasionally stop traffic to complete the clean-up. Motorists and pedestrians are asked to please be aware when travelling through that area.
Several additional dead or dying trees are set to be removed from Rotary Park sometime over the next month. Public Works will be replacing all of the trees removed downtown with new trees later this summer.
