The following is a summary of board motions carried during the April 8 School District No. 5 (SD5) Board of Education meeting in Cranbrook.

Motions Carried

General

– Introductory/first reading of the Annual Bylaw Budget in the amount of $52,136,229. *This is introductory only; discussion of budget pending, prior to second and third readings. By law, three readings of the bylaw must be completed prior to the end of June.

– Board agreed to –and completed— three readings of the Capital Project Bylaw –Project No. 126739, Annual Facility Grant, to a maximum expenditure of $1,124,996.

Also at Tuesday’s meeting, it was announced that Darcy Verbeurgt is a recipient of the Youth Science Canada 2014 Distinguished Service Award. More to follow.
