Tip from the public leads to cocaine seizure

As a result of assistance from a member of the public, Cranbrook RCMP members seized over 23 grams of cocaine on March 1.

The information passed on to police formed part of the Information to Obtain a search warrant under the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act.

The search warrant was executed March 1, at a residence on 21st Ave South in Cranbrook. Three adults and three children (aged two, four and six) were found in the residence. Two adults, a 26-year-old female and 33-year-old male, face charges of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking.

The search located two bags of cocaine, 15.2 gm and 8.5 gm in two separate locations in the house.

Cash and other evidence of trafficking were also seized. The Ministry of Children and Families was advised of the situation.
