All Candidates Forum April 18

JCI Kootenay is inviting residents of Cranbrook and area to come out April 18 and meet the local candidates hoping to secure a seat in Victoria in this year’s provincial election.

Proudly hosted by JCI Kootenay, the All Candidates Forum is an opportunity for all residents of Cranbrook and the surrounding area to engage in and discuss important political issues that are concerning to our community while getting to meet some new candidates.

Running for the BC Liberal Party is Tom Shypitka, running for the BC NDP is Randal MacNair, and Keith Komar is running for the Libertarian Party and Yvonne Prest is the Green Party’s candidate.

Did you know that only 52% of eligible voters cast ballots during the last provincial election in 2013? JCI Kootenay is striving to increase voter participation with the All Candidates Forum by making it more accessible to the public to get to know their candidates.

The candidates will be asked a series of questions submitted anonymously by the audience prior to the event. The event will be moderated by Cranbrook Chamber of Commerce executive director David D Hull.

Have a burning question to ask the candidates? Want to be more informed about your province and influence how it is governed?

Come prepared to write a brief question on our question submission card. The forum will take place at the Key City Theatre on Tuesday, April 18.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m., with the forum running from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m.

This event is open to all area residents and is free of charge.
