ORV routes established in Canal Flats
Off-highway Recreational Vehicle (ORV) users in the Village of Canal Flats now have designated routes in the village to allow for riders to access backcountry routes.
Operators must hold a valid driver’s licence or be accompanied by an adult 25+ with a licence.
Operators also must: hold a minimum $1 million liability insurance; helmets required for operators and passengers; Max speed: 30 km/h.
Annual permits are required and they are available at Black Sheep Campground.
“This change helps residents connect safely from home to backcountry trails or the gas station. It’s not meant for general in-town travel, the Village of Canal Flats pointed out.
