Village seeks Beautification Committee members

Village of Canal Flats council has just established a new Beautification Committee and is seeking three residents to sit on the committee for a two-year term.

The village noted on social media that in 2020 this group will accomplish two things. Firstly,  launch a first-ever, annual best yard award program and help the village with the commissioning of a public art piece to be located in Portage Park on Grainger Road.

The public art project has received a significant grant from Columbia Basin Trust.

“The committee may address other initiatives council may assign from time to time and may make suggestions to council on beautification matters around Canal Flats,” the village explained.

“We can all be proud of recent progress in the village. This is another positive step forward. Join the committee. Make a contribution to tangible actions.”

If you are interested in serving on the committee, contact the Village Office.

The committee selection will be completed by the end of May.
