RV Resort fire not considered suspicious

On Wednesday, June 19, at 6:15 a.m. police received a report of a shed on fire at the Canyon RV Resort in Radium Hot Springs. An employee awoke to find an equipment storage shed on fire. Fire fighters were able to extinguish the fire before it spread to nearby trees. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but it is not considered suspicious.

Warning issued for unsafe pass as witness declines to attend court

On Sunday, June 23, at about 10 p.m., police received a report of a commercial transport truck passing unsafely on Highway 93/95 near Windermere. An officer located the truck and after speaking to the driver, issued the driver a warning for the unsafe pass. When driving complaints are received and they’re not witnessed by a police officer, the witness will be asked if they’re prepared to attend court. If the witness does not wish to attend court to defend a violation ticket and there is no other evidence to support a violation ticket, the responding officer will generally issue a warning to the offending driver.
