Columbia Valley RCMP Report

This past week, November 14 through November 21, Columbia Valley RCMP responded to 61 calls for service. The following is a summary of some of the files our officers responded to.

Minor injuries to truck driver in Edgewater crash that knocked out power

On November 15, Columbia Valley RCMP responded to a collision on Highway 95 near Edgewater where a commercial vehicle hauling peat moss failed to negotiate a corner resulting in damage to a hydro pole that knocked out power to many area residents. The driver had minor injuries and was issued a violation ticket for failing to keep right.

Police investigate Canadian Tire break-in

On November 15, Columbia Valley RCMP received a report of a break in that occurred at Canadian Tire on November 11. It is believed over $10,000 worth of merchandise was stolen. The investigation is ongoing and video surveillance is being reviewed. Anyone with information is asked to contact Columbia Valley RCMP or Crime Stoppers.

Approximately $10,000 worth of tools stolen from truck

On November 15, Columbia Valley RCMP received a report that a window was smashed on a work truck parked near Third Avenue in Invermere and approximately $10,000 worth of construction tools were stolen from inside. Anyone with information is asked to contact Columbia Valley RCMP or CrimeStoppers.

Homes vandalized in Wilmer and Invermere

On November 18, Columbia Valley RCMP received a report that a residence in Wilmer and another in Invermere were the targets of vandalism. Small holes were located in windows at the residences and in one case eggs were used. Anyone with information is asked to contact Columbia Valley RCMP or Crime Stoppers.

RCMP assist at structure fire in Edgewater

On November 20, Columbia Valley RCMP was called to assist Edgewater Fire Department with a structure fire in Edgewater. The occupants were able to exit the residence with non-life threatening injuries and the fire was tended to by fire crews.
