CVSAR help secure injured cyclist

This past weekend Columbia Valley Search and Rescue (CVSAR) responded to an injured cyclist on the Westside Legacy trail.

CVSAR assisted BC Ambulance Service with providing first aid and transportation of the injured cyclist using a wheeled stretcher (pictured above).

“When out and about on our local trails, always prepare for the unexpected by wearing a helmet, just like the subject in this call out. Research shows that one of the most effective ways to reduce head and spinal cord injury is by wearing a helmet,” CVSAR reported on social media.

“Bicycle helmets have been found to reduce brain injury by 88% and reduce facial injury by 65%.”
