CVSAR respond to three calls in two days
August 10 and 11 was a busy couple days for Columbia Valley Search and Rescue (CVSAR), with volunteers responding to three calls in a 48 hour period.
The first was a nighttime search for a missing mountain biker at Panorama Mountain Resort.
The biker had sustained serious injuries in a crash. CVSAR provided first aid and transferred to BC Ambulance Service for further care.
The second call-out was a medical evacuation from the Kootenay River early yesterday morning. The person was located and transported with the help of Glacier Helicopters Invermere.
And the third call was a rescue for a person who had gone over Lower Bugaboo Falls the afternoon of August 11. The person was located and extracted with the help of Golden Search and Rescue.
“Accidents happen and we are here to help when they do. If you need our help call 9-1-1,” CVSAR noted on social media.
