GIS management services billable hours reduced
The Regional District of East Kootenay (RDEK) board of directors have agreed to amend its Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Services Agreements with the District of Invermere and Village of Radium Hot Springs.
The agreements allow the minimum billable hours to be reduced.
The RDEK has provided GIS services (mapping and database support) to the District of Invermere since 2009.
The agreement amendment revises the minimum billable hours from 405 to 203 effective January 1, which is equivalent to a 0.125 full time equivalent GIS Staff and provides adequate time to fulfill the GIS services required. The amendment also includes a change to set the chargeable GIS Staff rates at 1.75 times the Collective Agreement rate (as is the case in the Radium agreement) instead of a precalculated defined rate.
The RDEK has provided GIS services to the Village of Radium since 2017.
The Agreement Amendment with the Village of Radium Hot Springs for provision of GIS management services covers the term of October 1, 2021 to September 30, 2026.
The Agreement Amendment with the District of Invermere for provision of GIS management services for the term of July 1, 2020 to June 30, 2024.
Village of Radium Hot Springs Mayor Mike Gray thanked the regional district and staff, noting, “It’s a win-win for both parties.”
