This event happens across Canada where hikers and walkers come together to raise awareness and funds for Hospice. All proceeds from their hike benefit the Hospice Society of the Columbia Valley.

This is a unique opportunity for a four kilometre round-trip hike on an easy, private trail at K2 Ranch that leads to beautiful, secluded McCarthy Lake, the perfect spot to enjoy a bring-your-own, pack in and pack out picnic lunch. An added bonus is a guided tour of the historic barn and blacksmith shop along with a brief history of the ranch before the hike begins.

Check-in time is 9:30 a.m., the tour is at 10 and the hike sets off at 10:30 a.m. Rain or shine!

An easy way to register and collect sponsorship pledges to meet your fundraising goal is online at hospicesocietycv.com. Registration is $15 for those 19 and older, $10 for ages 15-18 and free for children 14 and younger. If you are unable to attend the hike you can still collect pledges for our Hospice programs by registering online for free as a “virtual hiker” and collecting pledges from your family and friends.

If you prefer paper pledge forms they are available on the website or can be picked up throughout the valley at the Radium Visitor Centre and Columbia Valley Chamber of Commerce, Invermere Home Hardware and the Hospice Office, Fairmont Pizza & Ice Cream Parlour and Tony’s Greek Grill and the Canal Flats Post Office.

For more information or to arrange an interview please call Susan Malone at (778) 526-5143.
