Hybrid approach to this year’s Whiteway Winter Challenge

Building on the success of the past two years, the Toby Creek Nordic Ski Club, Lake Windermere Ambassadors, Nipika Mountain Resort and Panorama Mountain Resort have developed a hybrid approach to this year’s Whiteway Winter Challenge.

Participants will register individually or as a team and will challenge themselves to set a distance goal for them or their team to skate, ski, walk, run or otherwise self-propel themselves on the Tri-Area Trails (Lake Windermere, Lake Lillian, Nipika, and Panorama).

Individuals or one team representative are required to submit weekly distances through a simple, online survey and organizers will tabulate them to provide community benchmarks and goals such as collectively going from coast to coast across Canada!

“We will host community meet up sessions throughout the season (January 1 – February 28) where participants will be invited to challenge themselves with others. Prizes and surprises will be awarded throughout the challenge for enthusiasm and support,” the Whiteway Winter Challenge Facebook page outlined.

All underage participants are expected to be accompanied by a parent/guardian.
