District begins water system flush
The District of Invermere will be flushing its community water system for the next six weeks.
“This program, carried out twice yearly, is necessary to maintain the quality of our water supply. There may be some short interruptions in the water service and temporary discolouration of water as a result of the sediment and organic materials that are being flushed from the water mains. During this period, disinfection by chlorination will be continued,” the district explained on its Facebook page.
To assist the Public Works Department during the flushing operation, users are advised that if they are experiencing persistent discolouration or odour problems with the water, to immediately notify the municipal office and explain the nature of the problem.
The district apologizes for any inconveniences caused by this operation.
