The District of Invermere once again has a full council complement following the March 4 by-election.

Long-time Invermere area business owner Grant Kelly (pictured) will join Mayor Al Miller and Kayja Becker, Theresa Wood and Gerry Taft on council on the strength of 140 votes.

Stephanie Stevens finished a close second with 128 votes, while David Goldsmith had 107 votes, Grey Bradatsch 100 and Juanita Violini 32, according to preliminary election results published today by Chief Election Officer Kindry Luyendyk.

The by-election was necessary to fill the council seat vacated by Mark Topliff, who resigned prior to his first council meeting Nov. 8, 2022.
