District of Invermere council March 8 appointed Kindry Luyendyk as Chief Election Officer for the municipal and school trustee elections being held October 15.

As per the Local Government Act, the Chief Election Officer conducts the 2022 General Local Election (including School Trustee Election) and Assent Voting with power to appoint other election officials as required for the administration and conduct of the election.

Andrew Young was also appointed Deputy Chief Election Officer for the 2022 General Local Election.
