Invermere MusicFest is ready to make you dance

There’s only one week to go until the seventh annual Invermere MusicFest takes over the Kinsmen Beach Greenspace for a memorable, entertaining and foot-stomping live music experience on Friday, August 16 and Saturday, August 17.

With a mix of international, Canadian and B.C. headliners, the robust lineup this year includes Delhi 2 Dublin (subcontinental pop), Alex Cuba (afro-Cuban jazz pop – pictured above), Shred Kelly (fused modern rock), Danny Michel (world folk pop), Garifuna Collective (modern intergenerational groove), Big Little Lions (new- indie folk), Steve Brockley Band (twangy roots & frenetic folk) and Marble Canyon (roots blending alt- country). This musical concoction will have audiences on their feet, moving to the groove and discovering their new favourite bands.

Festival Director Jami Scheffer shares: “Following on the heels of our successful 2018 festival with amazing music and record number of festival-goers, we’re super excited about this year’s Festival. We are presenting an impressive list of performers and bringing a variety of music and genres that is sure to please everyone’s style of music.”

The MusicFest continues to be a family friendly event featuring easy access to the Festival grounds. There is ample space for kids to play, lots of shade, and the Kinsmen beach and playground is close by. Children ages 12 and under are always free!

The appetizing International Food Village menu will include sweet and savoury crepes, perogies, Indian flavours, American street food, lemonade and more. Refreshments for those 19+ will be provided by Arrowhead Beer, Tinhorn Creek Wines and Taynton Bay Spirits that can be enjoyed anywhere within the Festival grounds.

The Festival main gate opens at 4:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and the music runs from at 5 until 11 p.m.

Tickets can be purchased right up until the Festival at the main gate, but gets yours early as the price goes up on Monday, August 12.

Tickets available online.
