Local arrested for trafficking in Saskatchewan
A Windermere resident has been arrested in Saskatchewan for trafficking cocaine.
On July 29, at approximately 12:50 a.m., Indian Head RCMP stopped a SUV on Highway 1 near Indian Head for a driver’s license, registration, and sobriety check.
As a result of investigation, officers determined there were likely illicit drugs in the vehicle and the driver was arrested, Indian Head RCMP reported.
During a search, officers located and seized 10.25 kilograms of cocaine and a sum of cash.
As a result, 33-year-old Shaunte Nichol, from Windermere, B.C., has been charged with:
- one count, possession of property obtained by crime less than or equal $5,000, Section 354(1)(a), Criminal Code; and
- one count, possession for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine, Section 5(2), Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
Nichol appeared in court in Fort Qu’Appelle on July 30. (Information #90529704).
