Local ranch hosting online auction to help CVCF

The Brady Creek Ranch, located on the west side of Lake Windermere, has opened an online auction in collaboration with other event vendors to support the COVID-19 Community Response Fund created by the Columbia Valley Community Foundation (CVCF).

In May, the CVCF created a Community Response Fund to financially support organizations and initiatives responding to the local needs resulting from the global pandemic. On an ongoing basis, the CVCF is receiving and reviewing applications for funding.

The Davidson family, owners of the Brady Creek Ranch, have collaborated with other local vendors including Glow Décor Rentals, Kyla Jayne Photography, Winderberry Nursery, Eletye Makeup, and Bighorn Meadows to create an online auction – many items perfect for any engaged couple. The Davidson’s are inviting other businesses to join the auction as well; additional items can be added until June 20.

As to why they created the auction, organizer Rob Davidson said, “The purpose of this silent auction is to support those in need and vulnerable. We chose the Columbia Valley Community Foundation because it supports a broad spectrum of organizations and families that we care about. Kyla Jayne, Glow Décor Rentals, TrueKey/Big Horn, Eleyte Makeup, and Winderberry jumped at the idea!! It is our hope others donate, and through a socially distanced auction, we can bring more funds to our wonderful community.”

The online auctions is open now until July 1 and can be found HERE.

Brady Creek Ranch is one of the area’s original farming settlements, first homesteaded in 1885. It was purchased by the Davidson family in 2010, beginning another chapter in the ranch’s long history dating back to the days when paddle wheelers steamed up and down the shores of Lake Windermere and the Columbia River.

Over the course of its more than 130-year history, Brady Creek Ranch has been owned or stewarded by nearly 10 families. Its fields have been used to grow hay, corn, peas and potatoes, and to raise cattle, thoroughbred racehorses, and even miniature horses.

The Davidsons have spent nearly a decade lovingly restoring the ranch’s barn, A-frame cabin, fence lines and fields.

The Columbia Valley Community Foundation is a collection of endowment funds, now totalling more than $3.5 million, established by donors from all walks of life to enrich life in the Columbia Valley. Funds are pooled and invested with the income distributed as grants to charitable organizations, and students, in a broad and inclusive manner that benefits the Columbia Valley between Spillimacheen and Canal Flats. The Foundation, on behalf of its donors, has distributed more than $900,000 to the community through community grants and student awards.
