Police seek info on thieving spree

Overnight on February 3 and early morning February 4, several vehicles were rummaged through in several areas of the Columbia Valley.

The culprits went through vehicles parked in Radium Hot Springs, Lakeside Roads, as well as the Copper Point and CastleRock neighbourhoods.

“Witnesses and scene evidence suggests there were two individuals going through the vehicles while they were being transported from neighbourhood to neighbourhood in a dark coloured Dodge minivan,” reported Columbia Valley RCMP commander Sgt. Bob Vatamaniuck.

The only vehicles that were entered and had items taken were those with unlocked doors. Most of the items taken surrounded loose change and in a couple of cases wallets that were left in the vehicles.

A surveillance camera caught the above image of one of the culprits (pictured right); it depicts what is believed to be a young male wearing a light coloured tracksuit, black skate shoes and black gloves.  Anyone with any information about this crime spree is asked to call the Columbia Valley RCMP Detachment or Crimestoppers.
