Retired Radium Hot Springs Fire Department Chief Dave Dixon was last night presented with a custom gold-plated fire axe to commemorate his over 30 years of service.

Dave was presented this axe by the regional fire chiefs of the East and West Kootenay areas.

Dave (pictured holding axe) continues to serve as a firefighter with RFD. He still responds to calls and has taken a lead in the Radium Fire Orientation Program for new firefighters.
