STRs in village need business licences

In an effort to regulate short-term rental (STR) businesses, the Village of Radium Hot Springs August 18 enacted a bylaw that requires businesses licences for STRs.

The village issued a reminder today that effective immediately, if you operate a short-term rental in Radium, as per village bylaw, you must apply for a business licence.

According to the bylaw, a person who carries on with a STR “without holding a valid licence for that business, breaches any term or condition of their licence, or violates any provision of this bylaw, commits an offence of this bylaw and is liable on conviction to a fine or penalty of up to $10,000 for each offence.”

Business licence applications can be found on the village website.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact village bylaw officer Kent Kebe, at [email protected].
