SARs and Canal Flats FD team up in Whiteswan rescue

On Saturday, March 27, at 12:30 a.m., Columbia Valley Search and Rescue (CVSAR) was tasked to assist the BC Ambulance Service in transporting a person who had fallen 100 metres down a steep slope near Whiteswan Lake Provincial Park and sustained serious injuries.

CVSAR mobilized a team of rope rescue members who executed a technical rope rescue (pictured above) with the aid of Kimberley Search and Rescue and the Canal Flats Fire Department.

The subject was raised up the slope and transferred into the care of BC Ambulance Services.

“A big thanks to the all the volunteers who responded to this call and especially to those who worked through the night. Columbia Valley Search and Rescue is a registered charity run by volunteers. If you would like to support our work please donate through our website or Canada helps,” CVSAR noted on social media.
